Fr. Alwyn Anfone

Father Alwyn B. Anfone was ordained as priest of the Diocese of San Bernardino by Bishop Gerald Barnes on May 20, 2017. Originally from the Philippines, he was born in 1959 and grew up with devout Catholic parents, two brothers and one sister. Although a late vocation, he felt the call for priesthood starting at the age of nine as an altar boy until high school. He thought priesthood was just “wishful thinking,” so he pursued a bachelors degree of science in chemistry at Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Philippines.
Father Alwyn continued to serve the Catholic church as he pursued a career in science. He worked for several years in a research nuclear reactor specializing in radioanalytical chemistry techniques in the elemental analysis of various samples.
Father Alwyn obtained his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina and his Masters in Divinity at St. Johns Seminary, Camarillo, California.

Deacon John Barna and his wife Marie have been part of St. Peter and St. Paul community since the mid 1980’s. Working over 24 years from his home office in the salad dressing business provided the flexibility to be more involved with our church. Ministry for the Barna’s was ‘music and youth’, Marie as the first director for the beginnings of Life teen and Deacon John along with Louise Wilkerson, as the directors of the Sunday night choir. During this period of ministry the call to the diaconate came from this blessed community.
Deacon John sees a tremendous blessing in so many vocations coming forth from St. Peter and St Paul! We have enjoyed new Priests, women Religious and so many Deacons that he has lost count. He feels that the parish’s uniqueness comes from its sense of hospitality and its spiritualness, which feeds vocations and the community at large. Deacon John and Marie feel blessed to be a part of such a rich and diverse community here at St. Peter and St. Paul. They look forward to the many exciting years ahead, ministering and listening to families as we share life’s journey in faith together!!

Aileen and her family have been parishioners of St. Peter and St. Paul for over 20 years. She has served in several ministries such as Marriage Preparation, Marriage Enrichment (at St. Joseph’s and Sacred Heart), and Marriage Encounter. She continues to serve as an Extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Homebound Minister to the residents at Atria del Rey, and an active member with the Cursillo movement. She has completed the Pastoral Ministry Formation Program (PMFP) and Coordinator of Ministries Formation Program (CMFP) at the Diocese of San Bernardino.
She thoroughly enjoys working as a Coordinator of Sacramental Preparation: Baptism, Children’s Faith Formation, and Matrimonial Services, where she assists parishioners in the preparation to receive their Sacraments.

Irma has been a parishioner of St. Peter and St. Paul for 14 years and has had the pleasure of being a part of this ministry for the last 10 years. One of the many joys of her position as a staff member is watching the children grow in their faith.

Rick Bzdok grew up in St. Cloud Minnesota in a large Catholic family. He served with NET Ministries from 2013-2015 and then shortly after began working at a parish in Indiana. He now has over ten years of ministry experience and has served the church through music ministry, sacramental prep, youth ministry, and administrative roles. He is passionate about building relationships and encouraging others to come to know Christ and the church.

Liz has been a parishioner of St. Peter & St. Paul for 19 years and has been involved with various parish ministries for over 10 years. She currently serves in youth ministry as well as music ministry and has worked at St. Peter & St. Paul since 2023. Her favorite part of youth ministry is getting to see teens discover and transform their relationship with God. She is tremendously grateful for the community of the parish and especially for the youth ministry team.

Melissa and the core members of youth ministry work together to journey with the teens and community here at St. Peter & St. Paul.

Audrey has been the Music Director at St. Peter and St. Paul for 14 years. She has worked in church ministry for over 25 years, and enjoys sharing her love for Jesus and the Church through music. When she is not working with music she and her husband Michael are busy with the activities of their four children. Audrey loves how welcoming this parish has been to her and her family, and truly feels that St. Peter and St. Paul is a place to form lasting fellowship, support and friendship.
