Confirmation

“By the Sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1285).

Through the Sacrament of Baptism we are permanently brought into the family of God, cleansed of our original sin, and encounter the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit within our lives. The Sacrament of Confirmation builds on the good work that God began within us through the Sacrament of Baptism by deepening the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and providing us with the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.

Proper preparation must take place prior to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. In the Diocese of San Bernardino, Bishop Alberto Rojas has requested that those receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation be at least 16 years old at the time when they receive the sacrament. Please contact the person below who best suits the needs of the person who would like to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
